Hello! My name is Amy Barnes. I am a retired teacher of Wilson County Schools. 

I taught at Winstead Elementary for 24 years. After leaving, I taught at Lucama Elementary School. I have taught grades 1st-5th, but most of my teaching has been in second grade. 

I retired December of 2020 and started teaching third grade at Community Christian School in February of 2021. 

I am married to Joe Barnes. My husband is a retired fireman. We live in Sims and we have an 18-year-old Yorkie named Buddy.  

My mom and dad live in Wilson. I have one sister that lives in Lucama. My sister is the secretary at Jones Elementary School. Her 2 daughters, Morgan and Madison, are like my own! Morgan is a dental hygienist and she lives in Durham. Madison will be a senior at Hunt High School and plans on going to school to be a dermatologist. 

My family and I are very close. They are my entire world. By the end of the year, my students will be familiar with their names! 😊

 

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with a new group of kiddos and parents. I can’t wait to meet you!
