The Community Christian School boys soccer team started Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association North Region play in fine fashion Thursday, with a 1-0 win over visiting New Bern Christian. 

Connor Ferguson assisted Hector Guzman in the second half as the Cyclones (2-0, 1-0 North Region) scored the game’s only goal. 

Carlos Ventura came up with a 13-save shutout in goal to stifle the Mustangs (1-1, 0-1).  

CCS will head to Johnston County to square off with American Leadership Academy on Monday.
