AYDEN – The Community Christian School boys basketball team opened its season in triumph Thursday, coming up with a 57-37 road win over the Pitt County Pacers homeschool group. 

Evan Gattis led the Cyclones with 22 points, and knocked down 5 3-pointers. Jamir Loftin added 13 points, and Jack Beamon narrowly missed out on a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds. Anderson Joyner also chipped in eight points. 

The Cyclones will host Dash Monday at the Peace Church gym.
