The most important thing about me is that I love the Lord with everything in me. I pray that in all I do and say that He is seen and His love is represented. That is the core value of my life that I live inside and outside the classroom.
I am a graduate of Catawba College with a degree in Mathematics, and Secondary Mathematics Education with master's work from North Carolina Agriculture & Technology University. I began teaching in Wayne County at Wayne Early Middle College High School in 2007. I have been teaching a variety of mathematics subjects for the past 10 years including, Pre-Calculus, Honors Geometry, Algebra, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 2, Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3.
Over the past ten years I have developed a strong passion for teaching and learning. I have found that as an educator I learn as much as I teach, whether it be new teaching styles, classroom activities, or advancing my knowledge of utilizing technology. My classroom is one in which I encourage a family atmosphere. I have found in my short time here at CCS that this core value is already a cornerstone for my students which has made my transition here very smooth. I love an active classroom with students having the comfort of being able to communicate with me and their peers, with the goal of being in this together and leaving no one behind.
I am so blessed to be here at CCS and look forward to a long journey with amazing students and a remarkable faculty.
