Assistant Head of School

In the desire of the Community Christian School Board, as well as his willingness to serve, Mr. Joe Strange is named Assistant Head of School.

Welcome to Community Christian School! I would love to tell you more about myself and my family. I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where both of my parents still reside. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's in science in Education in Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I am certified to teach K-12 students and have taught American Sign Language to hearing students. I also taught and coached track at Alabama School for the Deaf. I was recruited by the Savannah-Chatham County schools to teach after graduation.

In 2000, God called me into full-time ministry and I have served as a families and student pastor for the last 23 years. I have been trained and hold many counseling certifications as well, from crisis counseling to Biblical counseling. While living in Savannah, Georgia, I worked with the Savannah Police Department, serving as their chaplain, and worked closely with their crisis intervention team. I am currently the chaplain of our state troopers in Wilson and Greene counties. This past training and experience has led me to serve as the Assistant Head of School here at Community Christian School.

My life verse is one I try to remind myself of every day: “God is a Consuming Fire, a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24) I want God to consume more of my life on a daily basis through the Holy Spirit living inside of me.
