GRANTSBORO – A stellar effort by lone senior Abigail Jackson sparked her Community Christian varsity girls basketball team to its second win of the season Friday, knocking off host Pamlico Christian by a 36-27 margin.

Jackson poured in 24 points, two-thirds of her team’s total, to go with nine rebounds, six blocks, five steals and two assists as the Cyclones ended a five-game slide to improve to 2-14. CCS outscored Pamlico Christian 15-6 in the third quarter to seize control.

CCS will host Faith Christian of Goldsboro on Tuesday.
