NEW BERN — The Community Christian School girls basketball team suffered a narrow defeat in a key road showdown with North Carolina Christian Athletic Association foe New Bern on Monday, falling 21-19.
The Cyclones were done in by a poor night at the free-throw line, knocking down just 5 shots on 16 attempts from the charity stripe as they dropped to 5-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
“It was a game that we could have won,” said Community Christian head coach Carl Bradshaw. “The girls fought hard, and I was proud of their effort. We will learn from this game.”
Autumn Bradshaw led the Cyclones with 10 points.
CCS will head to Greenville to take on Trinity Christian on Friday.
