CCS JUNIOR VARSITY ROUNDUP: Girls top Bethel Christian in overtime

The Community Christian School girls basketball team won an overtime thriller against visiting Bethel Christian, 19-16 at Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf on Thursday. 

Autumn Bradshaw and Ellie Gay led the Cyclones, who improved to 5-4 on the season, with five points apiece. 

The Cyclones will head to New Bern on Monday for a big North Carolina Christian Athletic Association 2-A North Region showdown with New Bern Christian Monday; the Cyclones enter at 4-0 in conference play compared to 5-0 for New Bern. 

Cyclones handle Trojans

The Community Christian school boys basketball team cruised to a 57-35 victory over Bethel Christian at Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf on Thursday. 

Jack Beamon led the Cyclones with an eye-popping double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, adding two steals. Evan Gattis posted 12 points, five assists and three steals, Jamir Loftin tallied 11 points and Anderson Joyner added 10 points and four steals. 

The Cyclones will visit New Bern Christian on Monday.
