CELL PHONES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phone use is not permitted at CCS during the school day*. *Middle and High school students will be allowed to use their cell phones during their lunch period ONLY. All students MUST turn their cell phone/electronice device(Ipods, etc.) into their teacher at the beginning of class or leave it in their vehicles during the school day. If a student is caught with his/her cell phone unless at the MS/HS lunch, he/she will not get it back for one full week (including weekends) and must pay $10.00 towards the gym fund to get it back.
SUMMER ADVENTURE PROGRAM
"Helping families fulfill God's purpose for His children"
CCS Summer Adventure Program is designed for children ages 5-12 whose parents need daycare options or just want exciting activities for their youngsters.
May - August
Open 7 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Each week is set up as a camp with weekly themes. Full time is available, or you may choose a camp to attend.
Activities include: Skating, Swimming, Field Trips & Community Tours, and Sports.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM
Community Christian School is pleased to offer a service to their parents in need of early morning or late afternoon care due to their jobs or other obligations. School begins each day at 8:00 AM for all students. Elementary students will be dismissed at 2:55 PM and junior and senior high students at 2:55 PM.
There is no charge for students arriving from 7:30-8:00 AM. At 3:15 PM, all elementary students who have not been picked up by parents, day care providers, etc. will go to After School Care where they will be supervised until 6:00 PM. Junior and senior high students will be sent to After School Care if not picked up by 3:15 PM. No student is charged until 3:30 PM for this service.
After attendance is taken, students in after school care will be provided a snack. They will also be given the opportunity to do their homework and have some outside time if weather permits. See Tuition rates and Financial Information for care program rates.
CCS DRESS CODES
It is the desire of Community Christian School that its students develop an inner longing to be an example of a spirit-filled young person. Outward appearance is not a sure sign of a changed heart, but a neat appearance in this day of “anything goes” can be a testimony and create an atmosphere conducive to learning. The CCS dress code is designed to be user-friendly, create school spirit and identification, and incorporate principles of modesty, decency and good taste.
Elementary Shirts:
On Mondays all elementary students are expected to wear a collared CCS shirt for chapel. Tuesday - Friday students in grades K5-5th grade must wear the CCS t-shirt, CCS golf shirt or CCS sweatshirts that are purchased from the school office. Inappropriately sized shirts must be tucked in.
Elementary Pants and Shorts:
Elementary students are allowed to wear pants, capri's, and shorts in khaki, navy, greay, black or blue jean. They must be neat and appropriately sized. Shorts must be no shorter than three inches above the knee when standing. ATHLETIC SHORTS, ATHLETIC PANTS (SWEATS), AND LEGGINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Elementary Skirts:
Neat and appropriately sized skirts may be worn in khaki, navy, black, or blue jean. Skirts are encouraged for chapel on Mondays but not required. Skirts must be no shorter than the top of the knee when standing.
Elementary Shoes:
Shoes must be worn at all times. No shoes with rollers (including Heelys) are allowed at school. Tennis shoes are required for PE.
Elementary Hair:
Hair must be kept neat, clean, and not of an extreme style at all times. (No mohawks or extreme lines or colors). No feathers allowed in hair. Boys must have their hair neatly groomed, not touching the eyebrows or collar, earlobes must be visible, and with no excessive fullness or extreme lines. No hats, hoods, or head coverings of any sort are allowed.
Elementary General:
No visible body piercing jewelry, other than girl's earrings, is permitted. No visible tattoos. No see-through clothing may be worn, and undergarments may not be visible.
***Any clothing deemed inappropriate by school administration will result in a parent notice or a telephone call home requesting appropriate attire.
MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL DRESS CODE 11/12
MS/HS Shirts:
Female students in grades six through twelve may wear blouses or tops that DO NOT expose cleavage or undergarments. Tee shirts with college teams, CCS sports, Old Navy, Hollister, etc. are permitted. No spaghetti straps, off-the-shoulder, or tank tops are allowed. Shirts DO NOT have to be tucked in but should be long enough that they could be tucked in without pulling out when bending over. NO MIDRIFFS SHOULD BE VISIBLE. Ladies shirts must be non-see through, appropriately sized, and make no reference to alcohol, tobacco products, secular music or anything deemed offensive to Christians. No skulls (except ECU college shirts), gothic or "dark-looking" shirts are allowed. All ladies are expected to wear a nice golf shirt for Monday chapel with loose fitting pants or skirt. An approved dress is not required but would look nice.
Male students in grades six through twelve may wear appropriately sized golf shirts, t-shirts, CCS shirts or sweatshirts. All guys are expected to wear golf shirts for chapel on Mondays. Guy’s shirts must be NO LONGER THAN THE GROIN AREA. Inappropriately sized shirts must be tucked in. Shirts may not be worn like jackets with undershirts showing. Guys shirts MUST BE appropriately sized, non-see through and make no reference to alcohol, tobacco products, secular music or anything deemed offensive to Christians. No skulls(except ECU college), gothic or "dark-looking" shirts are allowed.
MS/HS Pants and Shorts:
Pants, capris, and shorts (bermudas) must be neat and appropriately sized. All bottoms must be khaki, navy, black, grey or blue jean. NO picture graphics or writings allowed. Shorts must be touching the knees at all times. NO TIGHT FITTING JEANS, SHORTS OR PANTS OF ANY SORT ARE ALLOWED for boys or girls. Pants with rips, holes or tears exposing skin are not allowed. Boys are not allowed to wear baggy pants. Athletic shorts ARE NOT allowed, except during PE. Soffees are not allowed at any time during the school day. No ragged or sloppy pants or jeans. No No Leggings or athletic wear, such as sweat pants, are permitted.
MS/HS Skirts, Skorts, and Dresses:
Neat and appropriately sized skirts, skorts and dresses may be worn. Skirts and dresses must touch the knee AT ALL TIMES! Spaghetti straps, off-the-shoulder or tank top style dresses are NOT permitted. Skirts and dresses are encouraged for chapel on Mondays but are not required.
MS/HS Shoes:
Shoes must be worn at all times. No shoes with rollers (including Heelys) are allowed at school. Flip flops are allowed. Tennis shoes are required for PE.
MS/HS Hair:
Hair must be kept neat, clean, and not of an extreme style at all times. (No mohawks or extreme lines, feathers or colors). Boys must have their hair neatly groomed, not touching the eyebrows or collar, earlobes must be visible, and with no excessive fullness or extreme lines. No facial hair allowed. No hats, hoods, or head coverings of any sort are allowed.
MS/HS General:
No visible body piercing jewelry, other than girl's earrings is permitted. NO EXCEPTIONS! This includes tongue, nose, eye rings, etc. No visible tattoos. No see-through clothing may be worn, and undergarments may not be visible. Make-up may be worn in moderation and in good taste.
Any clothing deemed inappropriate by SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION will result in a parent notice or a telephone call home requesting appropriate attire. After a parent has been contacted ONE time, the student will be expected to keep an approved set of clothes at school at all times.
Community Christian School reserves the right to allow or disallow items of clothing as necessary to maintain the integrity of the school's dress code.
